9 days to go
Three months is a long time! Long enough to loose touch with what is going on at home, with friends, etc. But there is always facebook. Nasty facebook. I can't quite seem to figure out what is so addicting...
Congrats Greg! You got an ISIC card. Cheap museems for you!

We decided that a night out would help us prepare for 3 months of nights out.

Homeland: The Netherlands
I went to visit Grandma last night to find out a few things about my family and our homeland. We stayed up late, looked at lots of old pictures, tried to read Dutch, and talked about who is still around and worth going to visit while we are in Holland.
Congratulations Mark!! You win top prize. Grandma loves you and thinks you're great! And that works out nice since we are coming to see you!
I learned all sorts of things from Grandma: how many siblings she has, how many siblings Grandpa has, their names, birthdates, children. I even learned the names of my Grandma's Grandparents: Joannes Voet and Johanna Hermsen, and Cornelis van Mourik and Maria Benschop. Those are the names of my great-great-grandparents!!! Not that most of you cared about that...
I also learned that Zeist and Bunnik are going to be valuable places to go visit. It turns out that the same church that my Grandparents were married in, has the graves of many of my family members in the cemetary in the back! Nifty.
So we're going to see where we come from. I know that I come from these people...

...but I guess I want to see where and how they lived. Nifty.
I'm getting excited. Very Excited. I need to learn how to say excited in Dutch. I should learn how to say hello first I guess...

Two Weeks Left
Well, since I haven't given the address of this here hot blog to anyone, no one has read it. Gosh this blog is smokin.
Two weeks until we leave. I hope you enjoy the countdown display.
I don't know what to pack. I'm bringing a back pack and a camera for sure. Everything else is negotiable. I really don't know what kind of underwear to pack. What about shorts, pants, shirts?
Should we bring sleeping bags?
So far, we have our flights booked, Eurail passes, insurance, ISIC cards (Greg do you have an ISIC card?), and hostel cards. We don't need Visas for this trip: we have a maximum of 90 days in the European Union without having to get a Visa. That means that we need to spend about 5 days in places like Switzerland, Bulgaria, and Romania. We have a couch surfer lined up for when we get to Switzerland, and a long lost cousin to put us up in the Netherlands. We have one night booked at Mont St. Michel, and other than that it looks like we are winging it. Not too bad - about 5 out of 95 days are covered.
Getting pumped!
