Well, I am fighting some serious jetlag waking up at 5:30 this morning while Brad is still sleeping, so I thought I would send an update.
We spent our first day wandering aimlessly trying to look for Chinatown. We never did it, but we did get approached by a tuktuk driver. This ultimately lead to us taking a dragonboat tour along the river and canal in Bangkok. It was super. We got to see many houses along it, and really got an idea of how many Buddhist temples there are here. We go dropped off at the Golden Palace, where the King used to reside until about 1900. We also saw the Emerald Buddah at Wat Phra Kaew, known to be the most sacred place in Thailand. We had to take our shoes off to be in this temple, and also needed to borrow long clothing to be in the Grand Palace. Let me tell you it's the hottest we have ever been, and we were pretty much worn out after that.
Anyway, time to try to sleep for a while!
